Southern Skies?

The other week I picked up OPI's Houston We Have a Purple at the Regis Salon for like 60% off. I wasn't thrilled with the swatches I'd seen from the Texas collection but I thought "I have no OPIs....I might as well get this one." I don't regret it but I'm not sure I'm 100% happy with this polish. It was quite opaque enough for my taste. Even at 3 coats there were still a couple spots that were patchy. But the color is more fun than I thought it would be.

Now if you haven't figured it out, I have a problem with leaving my nails at just one color. So this time I decided to go dark. I tipped the nails with Claire's Galaxy. Its a black jelly with tons of silver glitter. Lots of fun. These looks really messy because Galaxy stuck to the scotch tape I used. I would suggest doing one tip at a time so it doesn't have time to get tacky enough before pulling off the tape.

So this is  3 coats of OPI's Houston We Have a Purple with Claire's Galaxy tips.

Party of 5 Glitters

Damn you Blogspot. I posted this yesterday and yet it didn't show!

One of the gems I received from Traci was the Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday copy from Wet'n'Wild called Party of 5 Glitters.  Most swatches I've seen have been over white so I thought "Let's try it over silver!" haha.

So here it is. One coat of Po5G over 2 coats of Pure Ice's Silver Mercedes.

In bright Sunlight. It's so Shiney!

Under Lamp Light. Still Awesome!!

Easter-y nails

I couldn't think of what to do to my nails yesterday so I made the mistake of asking my buddy Chris for some input. He picked blue and yellow for me. Ugh,  don't know if I'll ever ask him again lol.... On an up note I amused myself all day by playing with the bumps haha.

This is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear yellow with 4 different blues dropped on top. I used spaghetti to do the dots because I'm cheap and don't have dotting tools and my toothpicks were MIA.

Some one really likes me!

So my darling friend Traci (The TraceFace Philes) had a few bottles of polish that she decided it was time to part with. It was time to make room for some more special finds, I think. There wasn't enough to blogsale them and none were all to special to make worth selling except as a big lot possibly. So what did she do? She helped me out, of course! I'm rather picky on colors and it seems like 90% of my polishes were purple, blue, red, or silver. So now, thanks to Traci, I have a well rounded enough range of color (in case I ever decide to leave my comfort zone, or if my sister gets into my polish lol).

Lots of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wears! Now I have some colors other people will like to wear ;-). And colors to experiment with. =)

Essie, Color Club, Pure Ice, Wet n' Wild's Part of Five Glitters (the Pinyata Yada/Happy Birthday dupe), Hard Candy, OPI...and Matte Top Coat!  Most of these here were bonus surprises that hadn't been mentioned  when the original plans were made. She sent them specifically because she knew I'd love them or wanted them.

I'm so excited to have all this polish to play with now. My toes are itching to have one of those bright colors applied to them haha! And I've already used the Hard Candy Mr. Wrong with JB's Make You Smile on my fingers. (I have a beef and beer tomorrow and still don't know what I'm wearing so I figured silvery stuff matches everything!) So hopefully I'll have a chance to post a picture of that tomorrow.

For now, it is time for bed. Even though I have a 3 day weekend starting tomorrow I still have lots I need to do!

Crazy Haul or Krazy Krissi?

So I went to the mall today. I normally HATE shopping but I had a bit of weight lifted off my shoulders and thought my wallet needed to be lightened a little. I did get a few things I actually needed. And then I got these:

OPI lint free wipes
Clair's-
Flirty/Shy (mood polish!)
Mystical
Galaxy
Nicole by OPI - Make You Smile from the Bieb's collection
Sinful Colors - Hottie
Hot Topic
       Gummy Bears (orange) scented
       Nerds (purple) scented
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Rockstar Pink
OPI
       I Juggle...Men
       Houston We Have a Purple

The Clair's and Bieber were BOGO half. The 3 OPI items were 60% off! and the Sally and Sinfuls were under $2 each. I got a little caught up in my madness today!

And by the way, the Nerd's polish (I just put it on) does have a slight Nerdy scent to it ^.^

Zoya Mod Mattes

I'm going to apologize first for how messy I was applying these. I was rushing and after the first 2 coats a little irritated at how streaky they were turning out. The third coat (done rather thick) evened out most of the coverage. Sadly it ended up chipping the very next night. So without further ado I give you Zoya Phoebe (blue) and Lolly (pink):

Like I said, I had a big of a problem getting even coats. This formula started getting tacky almost immediately. The good news on that is a quick manicure lol. In the end they are some pretty colors that looked better than I thought they would. I just wonder if a matte topcoat would help with the chipping any....

My Collection Thus Far

I've decided while I have a moment to do a quick inventory of my small stash of polish. Beings that I really don't have a lot of cash lying around (none actually, it's only accessible through a piece of plastic lol) I don't think I'm doing too bad.

L-R: China Glaze - Fairy Dust, Pure Ice - Silver Mercedes, Nicole - Give me the 1st Dance, Finger Paints - It's an Orginal, Nicole - Prized Possession Purple, China Glaze - Virtual Violet, Sinful - Volcanic, Nicole - One Less Lonely Glitter, Nicole - Step 2 the Beat of my

L-R: China Glaze - Dorothy Who?, Pure Ice - Celestial, Nicole - Me + Blue, Zoya - Phoebe, Nicole - My Lifesaver, China Glaze - Four Leaf Clover, Zoya - Apple, Nubar 2010

L-R: Funky Fingers - Dark Knight, Zoya - Lolly, Nicole - Di-Vine is Divine, Nicole - OMB!, Pure Ice - All Nighter, Funky Fingers - Yule Love It, China Glaze - Ick-a-Bod-y, Hard Candy - Beetle, Zoya - Tanzy

I think having low funds and a few of most general colors I'm gonna concentrate on getting really unique things.

Glittery Nails

So this weekend I was off work and had the plans set to go out and have some fun. And I thought, what better way to start the weekend off than with some sparkly junk on my nails! haha.

So I put on 2 coats of Funky Finers Dark Knight, and 1 coat of Nicole's One Less Lonely Glitter from the Justin Bieber collection. Of course I topped it all with a coat of Out the Door since polish loves to chip on me.  I must say though, after 2 nights at the bar and a flea market they still look amazing! (just some slight wear on the edges)

In other news, my Zoya polish that I picked up on the BOGO free promo they just had should be in the mail today along with the bottle of Nubar 2010 I finally broke down and purchased. I'm getting a little anxious though because the mail man is running a little late. I hope I didn't miss him  >.<
