At the end of last week a horrible tragedy occurred. My beloved Kindle 3 (the best christmas present I've gotten in a while) suddenly broke. I haven't a clue what happened. I was sitting there last Thursday night trying to keep my brain cells from dying by reading while my darling sister had on the Jersey Shore. Finally everyone went to bed so I put down the Kindle and got on the computer. Later when I decided to head to bed I went to read until i fell asleep, but sadly this is what I found:
A horrible glitch of some kind! I tired all the trouble shooting things, restarting it and such. Nothing worked. If anything it got worse. So, Monday, when I finally had a day off I called up Amazon Customer Service and a very smooth voiced guy named Steve saved my sanity. He told me they would overnight a new Kindle to me and alls I'd have to do is send in the broken one with the prepaid shipping label they'd send me. Easy Peasy!!!
I usually hate calling places. I don't even like to be the one to order pizza lol. But that was fairly pleasant. By the time I got home from work Tuesday my shiny new Kindle was waiting for me. Luckily I had the Kindle app for Android on my phone so I didn't have to wait to started reading The Land of Painted Caves since it came out that day as well. So I peeled off my DecalGirl skin (very very very carefully so as not to stretch or tear it) and was lucky enough to succeed in putting on my new device with minimal creases. I do think I'm going to have to order a new skin eventually though because the imperfections annoy me. Either way I'm a happy Krissi now. Amazon made something actually go right for a change.
